The Souvenir Jeugdkoor has been working on the musical development of children and young people for over 25 years. It is a super fun choir for everyone from 4 to 25 years old. At Souvenir Youth Choir, music is made at a high level: the children often give concerts, learn to read notes and every two years they make their own musical theatre production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Souvenir Jeugdkoor sings all music styles: classical, musical, pop and everything in between. Since July 2024, SJK has been under the passionate musical direction of Lieke Beirnaert - artistic director, conductor and vocal coach and Mirinda Tillmans, conductor, theory teacher and teacher of the singing class. At the moment there are four choirs within SJK: the Singing Class for children from 4 to about 6 years old, the Junior and Senior Training Classes for children from 7 to 12 years old and the Youth Choir for young people from about 12 to 25 years old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Souvenir Jeugdkoor sings at a high level and is regularly asked by professional music companies to collaborate. Recent partners include Philharmonie Zuid-Nederland, Brabantkoor, Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen, Kooracademi Breda and Capella Brabant for performances of The Lord of The Rings in Concert Mattheus Passionen, Nicolas Cantata and SCHOK! SJK has also collaborated on professional recordings such as contemporary Sinterklaas songs that can be found on Spotify and theme park music for the Efteling and Toverland. For the singers of the Souvenir Youth Choir it is an adventure to collaborate (again) on 2 performances of the Carmina Burana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
